Our listeners also contribute to WUSM and they appreciate you doing the same. Advertisements on commercial stations are thought of as annoying interruptions. However, public radio listeners don’t reach for the scan button when they hear your underwriting spots: they appreciate them as a vital part of the program they tuned in to hear…programming that they also support financially. Our audience recognizes that you are also supporting the programs they benefit from and can ONLY hear on WUSM FM and our 24/7 webcasting service.

- 1 month package: 3 spots per day = 90 spots @ $5.00 per unit = $425 (5 free spots)
- 3 month package: 3 spots per day = 270 spots @ $4.50 per unit = $1,150 (includes 5 spots per month free)
- 6 month package: 3 spots per day = 540 spots @ $4.00 per unit = $1,900 (includes 6 spots per month free)

Drive time scheduling
Spots for monthly clients will be broadcast during at least one drive time hour per day… more when slots are available (Drive time hours: 6am to 9am; 12:00p-1p & 4pm to 7pm). To maximize exposure, your spots will rotate through drive time hours (spots will also be included in weekend rotation). We will gladly work with you to provide the greatest coverage possible.
Spot Production
- Your 30 second spots can be produced by WUSM or provided to us as an MP3 or WAV file (spots must meet FCC guidelines).
- WUSM will produce the spots for any monthly package free of charge.
Program Sponsorships
Southern Miss Today – $600 per semester (billed $150/month for four months)
Southern Miss Today is a news, public affairs, and interview show airing at noon Monday though Friday during the spring and fall semesters. The show focuses on USM’s news and events as well as civic and chartity events in Hattiesburg and the surrounding area. Sponsorship includes three daily promos on WUSM.
Buzz in the ‘Burg – $150 per month (with Student Printz), $35 per month (WUSM only)
The Buzz in the ‘Burg is WUSM’s entertainment calendar, airing 8:30A, 12:30, 5:30, and 9:30P. Sponsorship includes acknowledgement of sponsorship in the Student Printz version of Buzz in the ‘Burg in Thursday’s edition of the Student Printz.
Funky Like Collard Greens – $150 per month.
Funky Like Collard Greens is the best of Funk and Soul music, old and new. Mean Willie Green spins the platters that matter on Friday nights, 7 – 9P. Sponsorship includes three daily promos on WUSM.
Gear Jammin’ Radio – $150 per month
Gear Jammin’ Radio features truckin’ music, comedy and culture with White Rose, aka Cindy Morgan, a twenty-year trucking veteran. Author of the book Cindy in Iraq, which chronicles the time she spend driving trucks as a civilian contractor in Iraq, Morgan blazes a trail through your radio Sunday afternoons from 4 – 6P. Sponsorship includes three daily promos on WUSM.
Sunday Brunch – $300 per month
Sunday Brunch is served up hot every Sunday from 6A – 12noon. Your host, Russell Stevens, brings the best in Jazz, both contemporary and classic, to the table. Stevens provides the ambience for maximum relaxation and introspection before the typically hectic week ahead.
Bloody Nose – $100 per month
HEAVY METAL! Josh Sullivan hands out aural beat-downs from Midnight to 4A Wednesdays on WUSM. Bangin’ heads and moshing are welcome as Sullivan plays the best in classic metal as well as the the newest and heaviest music that stretches the boundaries of heavy metal – Black Sabbath to Barroness, Metallica to My Inner Burning – not for the faint of heart. Sponsorship includes three daily promos on WUSM.
The Acoustic Groove/Tree Bones – $300 per semester (billed $100/month for three months)
The Acoustic Groove is what it says: acoustic music. Classic folk, demos and live versions of popular songs, and acoustic jazz and virtuoso acoustic artists. Tree Bones is all about bluegrass, traditional to newgrass, all performed on acoustic instruments. Host Molly Richard invites you to join her acoustic jam Saturdays from 10A – 12noon. Go Dub Yourself – $300 per semster (billed $100/month for three months)
